Betr Picks Group Play FAQs
Updated over a month ago

How am I placed into groups?

Upon submitting a lineup, you'll be placed into a group or groups with other Betr Picks members by splitting your entry fee into $1 segments. To ensure a level playing field, each user in a group will have submitted the same number of picks in their lineups. We'll also match you into groups based on your Experience Level: Rookies, Veterans, and All-Stars.

Why is my group not filled yet?

Groups are filled based on the time they were initially created, on a first-entered, first-placed basis. If your group hasn't filled yet, wait patiently while the groups in front of you have entries added to them.

What are Experience Levels?

Depending on how many lineups you've created and prizes you've won over your entire experience with Betr Picks, you'll be placed into the Rookie, Veteran, or All-Star level. Rookies show up on the leaderboard with a 1-star badge, Veterans with a 2-star badge, and All-Stars with a 3-star badge. Users will be grouped together based on their experience levels but may share contests with users of other levels.

How are points calculated for my lineup?

Each lineup a user enters is scored based on the final result of their picks. The user(s) with the highest scores win prizes. If multiple members tie for 1st place, payouts will be shared equally based on the total number of winners.

‍The points system is scored as follows:

Boosted Pick - 3 points

Regular Pick - 1.5 points

Special Pick - 1.5 points

Edge Combo (2 Boosts) - 5 Points

Edge Combo (1 Boost/1 Regular) - 4 Points

Edge Combo (2 Regular) - 2.5 Points

Void - 0 points

Incorrect pick - 0 points

What happens if my lineup has a voided player or projection?

Voided projections will not count as incorrect picks, but they will adjust your lineup and perfect lineup payout multiplier by one level. Reference the scoring system to see how these adjust your lineup score for determining leaderboard standings.

When voids occur contests adjust like this:

- 8-Pick → 7-Pick

- 7-Pick → 6-Pick

- 6-Pick → 5-Pick

- 5-Pick → 4-Pick

- 4-Pick → 3-Pick

- 3-Pick → 2-Pick

- 2-Pick → Refund, not eligible for prizes

What are the standard payout multipliers?

8 picks = 100x your entry fee

7 picks = 50x your entry fee

6 picks = 30x your entry fee

5 picks = 20x your entry fee

4 picks = 10x your entry fee

3 picks = 5x your entry fee

2 picks = 3x your entry fee

*NOTE: Some lineups may earn a different payout than the common multipliers listed above. This usually happens when multiple projections in a lineup feature players from the same team or the same game that affect each other.

How do I know how much I'll win for winning an individual leaderboard?

All leaderboards are collections of the $1 segments that user entries are broken down into for groups. Each leaderboard itself is worth $1 times the standard multiplier for the number of picks. All of the leaderboard winnings that are part of a user entry will be summarized in the users entry card.

Example: in a 2-pick contest, each leaderboard is worth $3 regardless of entry fee the user paid ($1 x 3x)
Example: in a 3-pick contest, each leaderboard is worth $5 regardless of entry fee the user paid ($1 x 5x)

Example: in an 8-pick contest, each leaderboard is worth $100 regardless of entry fee the user paid ($1 x 100x)

What happens if I have the highest-scoring lineup in my group?

The highest score in your group will win the multiplier payout that accompanies the number of picks in the lineup if the entry is a perfect score. For example, if you've selected a 3-pick lineup and have the highest score in your group, you'll win 5x your entry fee as long as the entry is perfect.

If not perfect, you will earn $1 x the multiplier of your group entry for every leaderboard you are first place in (that does not have a perfect lineup).

Example: in a 3-pick contest, each leaderboard is worth $5 regardless of entry fee the user paid ($1 x 5x)
Example: in an 8-pick contest, each leaderboard is worth $100 regardless of entry fee the user paid. ($1 x 100x)

What happens if there is a tie for the highest-scoring lineup in my group?

If two or more players tie for the highest-scoring lineup in a group, the multiplier payout will be equal to the total multiplier payout divided by the total number of winners.

What happens if I get a perfect lineup by making all my picks correctly?

If your lineup selections are all correct, you'll always win your full multiplier payout without having to split with any others as leaderboards become irrelevant when a lineup hits on all selections.

Please note that you will not receive any additional winnings for being first-place in leaderboards as all perfect scores in a group automatically get full payout.

What happens if more than one member has a perfect lineup?

All members who have at least 2 correct picks and zero incorrect picks will receive a multiplier payout based on the number of correct picks. Multiple members in a group can earn a perfect lineup payout without splitting.

What if I have a perfect lineup, but another member of my group has more points?

A perfect lineup always earns the full multiplier payout based on the number of correct picks. Even if other members in your group have more points, your perfect lineup will pay you out because it was perfect.

What if I get one pick wrong, but still have more points than someone who got a perfect lineup?

Making a perfect lineup is the only way to guarantee a full payout of your entry's multiplier. A leaderboard that includes a perfect lineup will become null and void and will not be winnable with an imperfect lineup. All perfect entries will receive full payout no matter what, regardless of how many perfect entries are in the group.

Why hasn’t my contest closed yet?

Contests are broken down into leaderboard groups with other Betr Picks members by splitting your entry fee into $1 segments. All contests and lineups in a leaderboard group must be completed before contests will be treated as closed.

What is the potential payout of a leaderboard?

The potential payout for a leaderboard win is as follows:

8 pick board = $100

7 pick board = $50

6 pick board = $30

5 pick board = $20

4 pick board = $10

3 pick board = $5

2 pick board = $3

PLEASE NOTE THAT TYING A BOARD WILL AFFECT THE POTENTIAL PAYOUT AS IT MUST BE SPLIT AMONG ALL WINNERS.

Additionally, BOOSTED pick selections have no impact on the potential payout of a leaderboard.
